Privacy at StripesFinder
StripesFinder (“StripesFinder,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides tools that help sports organizations, assignors, administrators, and officials manage games, assignments, availability, communications, and related operations. This Privacy Policy describes our practices for information that identifies you or can reasonably be linked to you (“personal information”).
1. Scope
This policy applies to the StripesFinder website, mobile applications, and related services that link to it (collectively, the “Services”). It does not govern the independent privacy practices of sports organizations or other third parties. If an organization manages your information through StripesFinder, it may also have its own privacy obligations and policies.
2. Information we collect
We may collect the following categories:
- Account and profile information: name, email address, phone number, profile image, account role, login verification details, and notification preferences.
- Organization and officiating information: organization details, geographic service areas, qualifications, credentials, affiliations, availability, referee lists, and other profile information.
- Scheduling and transaction records: games, locations, assignments, responses, attendance, fees, invoices, payment status, payment method labels, and related notes. StripesFinder does not collect full payment-card numbers through the Services.
- Content and communications: messages, feedback, support requests, uploaded profile images or credentials, and other content you choose to provide.
- Device and usage information: device and app information, push-notification tokens, IP address, approximate location derived from IP or organization service areas, app screens viewed, interactions, diagnostics, crash data, and network telemetry.
- Analytics and session replay: usage events and recordings that help us understand and improve the Services. We configure session replay to mask text inputs and images. Recordings may still show interface interactions and technical information, so you should not enter sensitive information in fields that do not request it.
We collect information directly from you, automatically from your device, and from organizations or other users that invite you, assign you to games, or otherwise use the Services with you.
3. How we use information
- Provide, personalize, maintain, and improve the Services.
- Authenticate accounts and protect against fraud, abuse, and security threats.
- Manage schedules, assignments, availability, communications, notifications, invoices, and support.
- Power AI-assisted features, such as schedule imports and assignment recommendations, when you or your organization chooses to use them.
- Analyze performance, troubleshoot problems, and develop new features.
- Send operational messages and, where permitted, product updates. You can opt out of non-essential email while continuing to receive service-related communications.
- Comply with law, enforce our agreements, and protect people and the Services.
4. How we share information
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may disclose information in these circumstances:
- Within the Services: to organizations, assignors, administrators, officials, and other users as needed to coordinate games, assignments, payments, and communications.
- Service providers: to vendors that provide hosting, database, file storage, email, push notifications, analytics, customer support, security, and AI processing. These may include providers such as Vercel, MongoDB, UploadThing, SendGrid, Expo, PostHog, and OpenAI, depending on the feature used.
- Legal and safety reasons: when we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law or needed to protect rights, safety, property, users, or the public.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.
- At your direction: when you ask us to disclose information or give us consent.
5. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain legitimate business and security records, comply with legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary based on the type of information and why we use it. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it, subject to backup cycles and legal requirements.
6. Your choices and privacy rights
- Update available profile information and notification settings in the Services.
- Disable push notifications in your device settings and unsubscribe from non-essential email using the link in the message.
- Request access, correction, deletion, or a portable copy of your personal information, subject to applicable law.
- Object to or request restriction of certain processing, or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
Account and data deletion
You can permanently delete your account in the StripesFinder mobile app from the Account section of your profile or More screen. We verify the request with a short-lived code sent to your account email, then remove your sign-in credentials, personal profile data, notification history, and uploaded profile files. Records needed for scheduling, accounting, legal, fraud-prevention, or dispute purposes may be retained in de-identified form. You can also contact hello@stripesfinder.com for help.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights and the right to appeal a decision about your request or complain to a data protection authority. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted by law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
7. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including access controls and encrypted network connections. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please protect access to your email account and notify us if you believe your account has been compromised.
8. Children’s privacy
The Services are intended for sports officials, assignors, administrators, and organizations and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us without appropriate authorization, contact us so we can take appropriate action.
9. International use
StripesFinder and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Those countries may have different data protection laws than your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here and update the “last updated” date. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice when required.
11. Contact us
For privacy questions, requests, or complaints, contact StripesFinder at hello@stripesfinder.com. Please include “Privacy Request” in the subject line and enough detail for us to understand your request.
